There is no Zoom class or field trip this week. This Friday, February 13th is a BC wide professional development day. In place of our class time we will all attend one or more of the online ProD sessions below, and then do our weekly critical reflection on one or more of the topics discussed in the workshops.

We fortunate that the non-profit Focused Educational Resources organization has given all pre-service teachers in BC free access to their full morning of EdTech focused ProD workshops. The workshops run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday. Here is a list of the session topics:

  • Black Canadian Learning Resource (6-9)
  • IDÉLLO (K-8), Live It Earth (K-7), NFB (K-12) and ClickView + TWIG (6-9)

  • Privacy for K-12 Educators

  1. Weekly critical reflection blog post to document your learning in class and to document progress on your inquiries (incorporate audio, video, screen video capture, or other multi-media elements into your blog post this week).
    • Review the 336 Blog Post Rubrics to make sure you’re including all the minimally required elements for your weekly blog posts.
    • Critically reflect on two or more topics today that you felt were important or were interesting to you from one or more of the ProD workshops you attended.
      • Reflect on pros & cons for each topic even if the topic is mainly positive or negative in your view
      • Use the category, “weekly-reflection
