The time has come. It is time to review what I have baked and summarize what I have learned along the way through my time baking and combining baking with using AI. I decided to experiment with Notebook LM’s video creation feature again and this time be more specific with my video prompt. I tasked Notebook LM to create a whiteboard video and suggested it try: (1) List the things “Athena” has learned over time throughout all the sources. (2) Briefly summarize each source.

Through this journey, my favourite part was learning to bake new recipes. Although they were not always perfect or “the best thing I’ve ever made,“ I am proud of my overall growth and recognition when using AI as an aide or guide for my ideas and recipes. I think the most valuable experience throughout this process has been to explore various generative AI platforms such as Google Gemini, Notebook LM, Claude AI, and ChatGPT. I think my favourite generative AI platform would have to be Notebook LM, purely because I can see how valuable it could be as a teacher in a classroom setting. Notebook LM seems to be right now a valuable resource for teachers because I think it would do a really good job at diversifying ways students can learn new information. For example, if you needed to teach a student about landforms, you could find some creditable resources and ask Notebook LM to create a podcast, video, report, slides presentation, and more. Granted, these might not always be accurate, so it is very important that as a teacher, you review the content before sharing it with students.

My least favourite or valuable generative AI platform would have to be ChatGPT. It was useful and did what I needed it to, I just personally didn’t like it compared to other generative AI platforms. Despite having challenges with both Google Gemini and Claude AI when asking them to create or review a recipe. From experiences outside of this inquiry (i.e., in my EdTech class), I have grown fond of these AI platforms and think they will be useful and have a lot of value to support planning and UDL in my future teaching career.

As I prepare for my practicum, where I will be teaching a grade 2 class, my final task was to bake the perfect loaf of bread to gift to my mentor teacher! I am so excited for this next chapter of my schooling and cannot wait to see how I can turn what I have learned in this inquiry project into practice with my practicum experience.
