Because music is a passion of mine, I have been looking into what sort of Chinese children’s songs are popular. One that I found after asking Gemini is called 兩隻老虎 / Liǎng Zhī Lǎohǔ / Two Tigers.

I asked my Taiwanese classmate about the song, and he has heard of it as well. Because I will be teaching two music classes in Taiwan, I am going to see if I can learn some of the words to this. I am also looking forward to what other songs I will learn while teaching music in Taiwan.

I also read this article which outlines some of the history of Indigenous Taiwanese music, with video/audio examples. Some of the sounds remind me of Canadian Indigenous music that I’ve heard. This is very interesting because Taiwan and Canada are very far apart.

Very excited to learn more about the history of Taiwanese music when I am living in Taipei!
