This week we turn our attention to designing for inclusion. You’ll explore inclusive learning design and examine Universal Design for Learning – with particular attention to how UDL shapes technology-mediated environments. You’ll bring these ideas into your Interactive Learning Resource as well as Blog Post 3 – and focus on how inclusive design moves beyond accommodation toward intentional, proactive planning. Here are your ‘to do’s’:
- Read any announcements on Mattermost.
- Read the post Inclusive Learning Design
- Ensure you dig into the Inclusive Design Guide developed by the Inclusive Design Research Centre (IDRC)
- Read the post Universal Design for Learning
- Complete the module “UDL & Technology-Mediated Learning Environments“
- Craft the Blog Post 3 and post ideally by Monday, March 2. Make sure you use the title Post 3.
- Please comment on the blog posts of your learning pod members and/or a fellow classmate. Try to aim to share feedback on the posts of one or two other classmates. Try to make these comments as posts on your own blog and hyperlink back to the original authors if possible.
- Meet with your Learning Pod to continue drafting your Interactive Learning Resource, focusing this week on accessibility and inclusion.
