Hello! I’m Joanne Kehoe, and I am grateful to be your instructor for EDCI 335 Learning Design for Technology-Mediated Environments. I am currently studying as a PhD (Educational Technology) student at the University of Victoria. I am also working full-time as Manager of the Digital Learning Strategy at McMaster University, which is situated on the traditional territories of the Mississauga and Haudenosaunee nations, and within the lands protected by the Dish With One Spoon wampum agreement.

My work at McMaster centers on how to best manage and coordinate digital teaching and learning projects in support of the university’s strategic initiatives. I provide advice and guidance to the McMaster community regarding digital teaching and learning best practices and technologies and open and technology-enabled curriculum and blended and online course design models. I teach courses at McMaster on online facilitation, thoughtful use of educational technologies, and digital literacies for teaching and learning in addition to facilitating faculty development programming.

I also teach courses on online learning design topics within Lambton College’s eLearning Design and Development program. I am motivated by an interest in the cultural and technological shifts the evolving open and digital landscape represents for teaching and learning and look forward to digging into our topics together.

Please know that I strive to contribute to an accessible and inclusive teaching and learning environment. If there’s anything at all I can do to better support you, please don’t hesitate in reaching out to me on Mattermost or by email at joannekehoe@uvic.ca.

Also note that as I live in Ontario, my timezone is 3 hours ahead if you are based in Victoria. I may not be the speediest replying if you reach out late in the evening. You can always book a time with me to meet synchronously on Zoom via this bookings page.

Looking forward to learning together!
