This week we have our final presentation and our final class for EDCI 565. Here are the resources shared by our presenters today.

Community-based classroom designs that foster peer relationships

Activities for this week

Last week I put forward the following questions for consideration:

  • What could come next in terms of changing practices around learning design?
  • What can you imagine having a real impact in the space of your classroom and impacting student learning within the next 25 years?
  • Be speculative about future technologies not yet created (employ Science Fiction Thinking) and how they might impact schools?

We will engage using a Mural board to explore the most significant uncertainties and strategies to counter the issues they bring forward. I will share the mural board with our collaborative work here after the class.

In Closing

Thank you all for a wonderful term. I really enjoyed getting to know you all and will miss our Tuesday afternoons together. I appreciate you trying a number of new activities throughout the term. I want you to know that this website and your annotated readings will be accessible to you beyond the end of the course.

Speaking of annotations, you all contributed significantly to a shared social reading experience, I hope you found this valuable. You collectively created 751 annotations, across twelve course readings, with a 154 threads or conversational replies to one another’s’ annotations. These annotations helped inform our weekly discussions and I really appreciate the effort you put into this task.

When I return your final papers, I will ask you about adding your learning design document to this website. I would be happy to create a section for your creations and we can share them onwards to future teachers. There is no obligation to do so, but the invitation is there and I can upload them on your behalf, using the abstract as a the description of the resource. Let me know if you have any questions.

Do feel free to reach out anytime, and I wish you the absolute best for the next phase of your journey. You are doing great and important work. If there is anything else you need, please let me know.
