Thanks to all for your flexibility and continued enthusiasm today as we had to forgo the outdoor education experience. I am hopeful that we will be able to reschedule this class for the 12th of March. I will keep you up to date.
A reminder that if you have to miss class, it is expected and respectful that you will let me know in advance. I noted several people away today but only heard from a small number. If you were away today and did not reach out to me, I would appreciate hearing from you. Attendance is a program requirement. As you have seen, I offer flexibility via zoom connections to provide alternatives ways of engaging.
To do list for week eight
- EdTech Reflection Post: Consider reflecting learning design, EdCamp, or one of the videos provided below.
- Free Inquiry Post: Document your weekly progress
- Group Project – you should be thinking about how you will be creating your project. Plan accordingly, it is never to soon to start!
Additional Resources
I wanted to follow up from our session by sharing the two immersive classroom image links that I shared with in class. These are 360 vides of classrooms that can be explored. Each dot represents more information that you can access by clicking.
Learning Power Classroom: https://www.thinglink.com/video/1191916058760445953
Oak Bay Classroom: https://www.thinglink.com/mediacard/1726379014492258981
We have access to a 360 camera here at UVic if you are local and want to try something like this. The Thinglink service that hosts these images does require a subscription fee. However, I also have a way to create a similar hot spotted 360 image (with some limitations compared to ThingLink) using your WordPress blogs. Here is an example with Trevor’s classroom: https://mpaskeviedci336.opened.ca/2023/06/19/oak-bay-classroom-360/
Inquiry Teacher Videos
These two videos are well worth your time. Trevor is a high school teacher and Rebecca teaches kindergarten. In each video, they share how they approach their teaching, engage learners, and share their overall philosophy and passion for teaching.
