My name is Maryam Shirdel Pour, and I am your instructor for EDCI 335: Learning Design for Technology-Mediated Environments.
I am a Graduate Student in Educational Technology at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction. I also hold the position of Learning Designer with the Division of Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation and a sessional lecturer at the University of Victoria.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes a learner-centered approach, focusing on the importance of addressing each student’s unique needs and interests. I am particularly interested in exploring the integration of technology in education, digital literacy, and inquiry-based learning. I aim to investigate how educators utilize open and accessible sources of knowledge and tools to enhance their pedagogical designs. Additionally, I am passionate about studying the latest innovations in education and technology-integrated learning, which foster creativity, actively engage learners, and enrich their learning experiences.
I have many years of experience as an educational specialist in the Faculty of Literature at Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran. This experience has given me the marvellous opportunity to be in close contact with students and learn about their instructional needs.
I am looking forward to learning about the latest developments in educational research and how they can be applied to practice in my learning and teaching journey at Uvic.
I am truly excited to work, teach and learn with you all!
