Hi everyone,

Thanks for your participation in the EdCamp this week. I hope you found it to be a valuable experience and see some merit in using the model yourself. You will find resources on how to organize an EdCamp in the slides below.

A Generative AI Podcast

I wanted to share the AI generated podcast that was developed based on source material using NotebookLM. In this case, I provided two documents to the model: one was the new Victoria School District 61 Policy on Cell Phones and the other one was PEW Internet Research study that looks at broad trends in mobile device usage across the United States.

Here is the result, after the model ingested the two documents this podcast was created distilling the issues and key points. Keep in mind this is AI generated, these are not human voices, and the AI does not simply read the text in the documents, but aims to synthesize the key ideas and link the two documents together. Welcome to the future.

To Do list for Week Eight

  • In the coming weeks (TBD) we will be welcoming guests from BCEdAccess to our class. If you have not already done so, please familiarize yourself with BCEdAccess and take time to consider questions related to accessible technology and equitable education. You should also read, ‘The Least Dangerous Assumption‘ article to prompt your thinking for next week, and finally, review this resource on assistive technologies on our website.
  • Continue with your weekly WordPress class reflection as well as your free inquiry project update.
  • You have your educational technology groups formed so you can continue with research and discussions to move that forward. Let me know if I can help at any time.
