This week, we’re finally settling down with movement in the registration list in the first two weeks, which means we can move forward with our locked in class list. We have two guests – one with Jeff Hopkins on the Inquiry process and one with Mike Caulfield on the SIFT methodology for mis/dis-information. Cable Green has been booked for next week.
Inquiry Process (for preparing for Assignment 1)
We have recordings with Jeff Hopkins of the Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry to share with us about inquiry, which is what assignment 1 is about. You can access the link above to watch our main guest talk (1 hour), plus 3 short videos, including a TED talk of his. This will prepare you for Assignment 1. Think creatively and book in for a 1-1 if you need help brainstorming your topic. You’ll form pods after January 21 and begin to plan your Assignment 1 then, but start now with understanding the process and thinking creatively about what you could do! Some have used this opportunity to network professionally, to learn things they never had a chance to do, or to make an impact in their school or work context.
Sign up for a Pod
Since the last day to add/drop has now passed, please sign up for a pod – the link is in BrightSpace as well as on the Social Spaces page of this website (password on the course outline found on BrightSpace)
Your job now is to come up with a topic for the Inquiry Assignment and run it by me or to send me a DM to ask what I think of your ideas. If you need help, book in for a 1-1 meet, but we can also talk about this at next week’s lab.
