In your WordPress blog, you will create a digital summary of EDCI 339 that demonstrates clear evidence of 1) your learning and 2) how your learning connects to your future learning or employment goals. The portfolio will include evidence of your learning throughout the course, demonstrated through your individual and pod activities. The portfolio can be added to your current WordPress blog as an additional page, post, or combination of those. You can post this page openly or add a password to keep this page private to you and your instructor.

It is highly encouraged that you collect evidence of your learning throughout this course in order to contribute to the ePortfolio in stages rather than all at once at the end of the course.

The portfolio is a way to make your learning visible. It will be a collection of the digital artifacts you have created throughout the course, evidence of additional connections/ interactions you have had with other learners, and reflections about your learning process.

The portfolio will need to include the following components:

  1. A summary of the evidence of your learning as a result of your participation in the activities and readings throughout the course. Your summary should describe:
    • evidence of each of the activities you engaged in (text, screenshots, links to posts, links to comments, notes on course readings, audio comments, video comments, etc.),
    • what you learned from each activity, and
    • the course learning outcome(s) you developed by participating in each activity
      • be specific
      • include justifications for these identified connections between the activities, the learning you, and the outcomes
  2. One “showcase” blog post. Choose one of your blog posts, from the four topics you wrote about in this course, and make a new “showcase” version of this post. This showcase post should have been improved based on the questions and feedback you received on this post (plus any additional learning you’ve done since originally writing the post)
    • Link to this post from your portfolio page
    • In addition to linking to the post, provide a written description of the changes and additions you made to the blog post. You may also include screenshots and other visual elements within this description.
    • Make sure you include a link back to the original post and include linked (APA 7 or other) in-text citations and a list of references at the bottom of your revised post.
    • To expand upon or refine your previous blog post, you might want to consider:
      • Connecting with a current teacher or educational professional to get their perspective on this topic.
      • Reading additional articles or resources to compare and contrast academic perspectives that further develop your understanding of the topic.
      • Good posts are succinct. Aim for 500-700 words.

For Ryan’s section, please see this post for tips on how to structure the portfolio.
