Cooperative learning is an instructional approach in which learners work together in small groups to achieve shared learning goals through discussion, explanation, and joint problem-solving. Rather than positioning learning as an individual and isolated process, cooperative learning emphasizes interaction and shared meaning-making. Learners are encouraged to articulate their thinking, listen to others, and negotiate understanding…

    by devinzucko7 on 2025-11-18 at 6:03 pm

Accessibility in learning design is fundamentally about equity amongst all students. The first step to achieving this equity is recognizing that barriers arise for some students not only because of disability, but due to design. In the material, Kat Homes (2019) explains that “disability is a mismatch between a person’s abilities and their environment”. This

When I think about accessibility in learning design, especially through a UDL perspective, I’ve started to see it less as a checklist and more as a mindset. Accessibility, to me, is really about removing the mismatches between a learner and their environment—not “fixing” the learner, but adjusting the design so more people can participate meaningfully.

Accessibility within learning environments means creating equitable spaces for learners of all abilities. Overachieving accessibility will create better learning for all students. It allows those who may have been alienated…

UDL positions accessibility as an active design concept rather than a passive accommodation. According to Kat Holmes’ idea, disability is a mismatch between a person’s abilities and their environment but not an individual limitation (Holmes, 2020). This idea reframes accessibility as an equity issue, designing learning experiences that flex to meet diverse needs rather than…

When I think about the design process, I picture it as a loop rather than a line. Each stage, understanding, planning, trying, and reflecting, teaches me something new and reshapes what comes next. I’ve realized that design is less about reaching a polished endpoint and more about responding to feedback and discovery. The Double Diamond

The design process is a reflective approach to solving problems creatively and purposefully. It usually moves through four stages: understand, plan, try, and reflect. It also encourages designers to shift between divergent and convergent thinking. Divergent thinking helps explore a wide range of ideas, while convergent thinking focuses on analyzing and refining the ideas into…

The design process was interesting to read about and see differentiated into so many distinct approaches. For me, design had previously been something that seemed like it just sort of happened and the result of your design was your final project. To see it broken down into a systematic practice while not abandoning the creative…

I contributed by writing the initial script, refining dialogue, and helping decide how…

Design Process A design process is a methodical approach to project planning, development, and enhancement. When designing a project like a comic or a video the design process is vital. This is where the broad ideas are narrowed down into the final polished product.  A design process can start from anywhere with the ability to change and tweak the ideas at all points as nothing is final and concrete in the design phase. One of the most important phases of the design phase is feedback from peers and personal reflection. From these you are able to see different perspectives from your own. This gets rid of bias reduction, gives a fresh perspective and gives good room for improvement as the first drafts will never be perfect. During my comic I took the time to create a draft and an idea of what I wanted it to look like including the message I wanted to get across to the reader. The steps I took were 1. Design 2. Reflect 3. Refine. Repeat. I feel as if I could’ve spent more time in the original design part of the project where I feel I should have gone into more detail before I went into the reflection and design, especially when I was designing the narration of the comic. For challenge B I am planning to spend more time designing and getting my ideas narrowed down so I’m able to reflect what I want to teach all within one minute. I also know we get peer feedback from our classmates but this time I want to use more resources around me like my family and friends to gain more constructive criticism to improve my work.
