When COVID-19 hit, educators were required to rapidly switch their modality to remote learning. For many, this was an entirely new way of teaching, and the learning curve was steep. The goal of this website is to provide information, advice and resources to better equip educators to teach via remote delivery, so that we can all be prepared for whatever the fall may bring.

This website is a collaborative project created as part of a summer course with Dr. Valerie Irvine for the 2019-2021 cohort of M.Ed in Educational Technology students in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria. The cohort consists of 25 educators spanning from K-12 to higher education who have all had experience being online learners, and with pivoting rapidly to remote learning. While 13 of us are local to the Greater Victoria area, 12 of us are from across the province with one from Manitoba. You can access a growing list of our contributors on our website.

Our successes, struggles, and failures have informed the content put forth on this site. We also welcomed posts from visiting students, UVic MEd alumni, and other open learners. You are welcome to connect your own blog to this site to share your resources. We have taken steps to ensure our content is evidence-informed. That said, the onus is on you to check with your district to determine the fit of any of the resources for your educational setting, as every district has its own policies and procedures with regards to software use and approach to privacy and data.
