It was great to meet you all today. Thanks for your engagement in class and I appreciated all of your questions. This week we will learn more about Personal Learning Networks and Inclusion and community engagement, the importance of our social connections, and how they are vital to anyone’s success.

We all believe in the idea of inclusion and the value of diversity to some extent. However, have you ever thought about it in practice? What if our practices become a mismatch to our beliefs about what inclusion means in the world outside our classroom?  The writer of this week’s reading tries to understand inclusion in both philosophical and practical terms.

As an educator do we need to have a common understanding of what inclusion means?

We will learn more about the subject by reviewing this week’s readings.  Please consider the following questions while reviewing the readings.

  • How diverse is your PLN?
  • Are you learning from a variety of diverse voices in your PLN?
  • How are you ensuring your exposure to diversity and inclusion?
  • How likely individuals are going to continue with their created content and their network?
  • How does social media engage communications?
  • How does social media challenge communications?

For this week, please add at least three annotations to the texts. You might annotate something that you would like to discuss more thoroughly, have questions about, or something you strongly agree or disagree with. You can also reply to the annotations your peers make, engaging in discussion as needed.

Each week, I appreciate you completing the annotations by the Tuesday before our next class.
