Here you can find a summary of the weeks tasks. Complete information is found on the instructor-posts- so please check this page a few times a week in case updates are added. Updates to that page occur a few days prior to the new week’s start.
Course Outline and Schedule (approximate and may be changed)
Reminder: Assignment 1 Blog posts are due prior to weekly Learning Pod meetings. Learning Pods meet whenever your Pod has agreed is the best time for all members. One Assignment 2 comment should be written on a Pod member’s blog for each time your Pod meets (7 total).
Your task list for First Week of Class – Week of May 9th: (Please complete all tasks before May 16th)
- Familiarize yourself with this site. Perhaps bookmark Tutorials and Support (Ongoing)
- Read the syllabus that was emailed to you on May 10th (10 min)
- Read Privacy post on the course site/this site (5 min)
- Review OpenETC code of conduct (5 min)
- Setup your WordPress Website/Blog – click here for instructions (follow steps in posts below for a walk through) (25 min)
- Visit the Social Spaces page and: (password sent via email with the course syllabus)
- Sign-up for Pairs/Pods
- Use UVic email to join Mattermost (5 min)
- Check out Mattermost overview
- Review summary of the Principles of Multimedia Learning resource mentioned/linked above (12 min)
- Read article highlighting non-digital interactivity used in a classroom to increase learning (~4 min)
