Assignment Three
Ongoing | Educational Technology Resource Development – Educational Technology in your Teaching Area | Value 30%
This is a team project, and your group has been assigned based on the teaching area you have designated as your first choice.
Two milestones to note:
- October 8 for preliminary report
- November 26 – submit video summary
This team-based project involves working with a group of students in the class who share your teaching area. The goal is to investigate and assess educational technologies suitable for teaching in the area you plan to teach.
Early in October, each team will present a preliminary report through a 5-10 minute presentation in class about their teaching area, what makes it unique, and what potential benefits and challenges they see for using educational technology to support teaching and learning.
By the end of the term, you will be expected to showcase your learning via a 8-10 minute video. This final project is intended to capture your groups’ more considered and researched findings into the most appropriate and impactful applications of educational technology in your teaching area.
Each team will prepare one video, and everyone is expected to contribute to the video. Group members can take different positions and tackle different aspects of the presentation, but all roles should be made clear if students do not appear or are heard in the video. Please feel free to be creative with this project, and consider the use of screencasts, video presentations, podcasts, dramatization, simulation, animation, etc.
- What have you found to be the most impactful applications of technology in your teaching area?
- What are the pros, cons, and risks for teachers and learners?
- What are some of the strategies, best practices, and tips regarding your findings?
Please use the category ‘Educational Technology Presentation’ for this work.
