Welcome to the Educational Technology Area at the University of Victoria
Our Educational Technology program area offers internationally-recognized programs ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels that explore learning technologies in a variety of contexts including K12, higher education, and workplace learning. Some of our programs are fully online, while others offer either multi-access (merging both face-to-face and online synchronous access) or face-to-face courses. For more information on the format of delivery of a specific program, please visit the specific program page.
Our graduates follow a broad range of career paths. The knowledge, skills, and networks you acquire in our programs prepare you for positions that design, implement, and/or research digital, networked, and open technologies in teaching and learning, for leadership positions that are responsible for policies and practices around networked and/or open learning solutions. Our graduates have secured positions such as K12 educational technology district coordinator, K12 administrator, university educational developers and manager, university tenure-track faculty member, university instructor, and researcher. Our students have participated in international research networks and have secured UVic entrance scholarships, graduate research travel awards, UVic Faculty of Education Research Award, and held the prestigious Government of Canada Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council fellowships.
