I am here to support you as best I can and welcome all queries, no matter how trivial they may seem. Do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns, I am easily <a href=\"https:\/\/chat.opened.ca\">reached via Mattermost<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please ensure you have setup your UVic email address as that is required to get your WordPress portfolio started. I believe you will find support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/systems\/support\/emailcalendar\/students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">getting email setup on a variety of platforms and with various configurations on this link<\/a>. A UVic email will also give you access to other student benefits such as software. If you do not currently have a working copy of Microsoft Office, you are able to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/systems\/services\/computerssoftware\/softwaredistribution\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download those apps as a student here<\/a>. The Microsoft Office tools will become especially useful as we get going.<\/p>\n<p>Also, with your UVic email account, you will get access to a full Zoom account. I could not tell if you were all using the Zoom app in our session this week, but you should be using the app in future. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/systems\/services\/avmultimedia\/zoomvideoconferencing\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download the Zoom app here and get information on logging in here<\/a>.\u00a0 I would<strong> really appreciate if you could login each week before we meet. <\/strong>This saves me from managing the waiting room and ensures a more blissful experience if people join late. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n<p>I know some of you were super eager get setup with your portfolios, but I have updated the documentation slightly this morning to be clearer about the best practice for setup.
