{"id":219,"date":"2019-09-20T15:44:21","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T15:44:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/?page_id=219"},"modified":"2026-05-03T06:57:01","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T14:57:01","slug":"assignment-3-lead-lesson","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/assignment-3-lead-lesson\/","title":{"rendered":"Assignment 3: Lead Your Lesson"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Worth 17% of your grade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lesson Delivery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"p-rc_1f81a9773ec15710-49\"><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students demonstrate &#8220;Facilitator&#8221; and &#8220;Leader&#8221; competencies by delivering technology-enhanced instruction to peers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"p-rc_1f81a9773ec15710-50\"><strong>Task<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead a 10-minute lesson for a peer learning pod on May 27 or May 28.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A random draw will determine which day you present.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"p-rc_1f81a9773ec15710-51\"><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> Your instruction should include the following elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clear organization and preparedness in the instructional setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clearly explain the &#8220;why&#8221; of the topic or skill in an interesting or compelling way to learners, possibly using a story as an example or &#8220;hook.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use at least one educational technology in your instruction or activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use at least one active learning component in your lesson with clear and easy-to-follow instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your lesson should be no longer than 10 minutes long, and if you like you can either: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>include your active learning component in the 10-minute time frame<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Direct people to the instructions for the active learning component to be completed later<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You will deliver your lesson in person on May 27 or May 28, and will post a link to the blog post with your lesson activities on BrightSpace by the start of class on May 26. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Allowed Uses of Generative AI<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are not allowed to use any Generative AI tools to deliver your lesson.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>See the course\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/generative-ai-policy\/\">Generative AI<\/a>\u00a0policy for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Worth 17% of your grade Lesson Delivery Purpose Task Criteria Your instruction should include the following elements: Allowed Uses of Generative AI:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_s2mail":"yes","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-219","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/219","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/11"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=219"}],"version-history":[{"count":29,"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/219\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4381,"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/219\/revisions\/4381"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/ied336\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=219"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
