I completed my Master of Education degree in 2016 from the University of Victoria in the area of Educational Technology. My final project was a study of Digital Literacies for educators in British Columbia, Canada. This continues to be an area of interest for me as I work with educators and students developing their own network literacies.

I am a middle school educator in the Greater Victoria School District. I have 20 years of teaching experience and I have learned a great deal through the feedback I receive from my learners. Throughout my teaching career I have taken an active role in my own learning and a leadership role in offering Professional Development opportunities for others. I have presented at conferences around our local province. I enjoy working at the middle school level because of the collaborative nature of the pods of grade-group teachers. Working to co-plan and deliver lesson material makes my teaching experience more dynamic and rich as I learn alongside my colleagues and we design the learning experiences for our students together.

I live in a rural area near the ocean with my husband and labrador retriever. I enjoy spending time outdoors and on the water. Reading and cooking are two of my favourite past-times.
