Please remember to take some time to consider your research topic, problem, purpose, question for sharing this week. We will have some time to share and review these together in class. Slides from this week are also available<\/a>. There are a few examples of the topic, problem, purpose, questions available within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have selected three course readings for your review this week. A useful methodological article by Kivunja titled “Distinguishing between Theory, Theoretical Framework, and Conceptual Framework: A Systematic Review of Lessons from the Field” that attempts to unpack these terms and their use in research. As well two useful articles on conducting and reviewing literature, Creswell’s “Reviewing the Literature” and Booth et al.’s “Finding and Evaluating Sources” should be useful for the work ahead. All can be found on the Reading Source Files <\/a>page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned in class I think a goal of seeking to read five articles a week<\/strong> in your area of interest is reasonable as you move forward in this class in preparation for your literature review and presentation. Use the tools that Pia shared and reach out to her if you have questions about library search. When reading, try to identify the topic, problem, purpose, and question from each article<\/strong>. As well, look for and try to understand the application of theoretical and conceptual frameworks <\/strong>present in the article. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
