This section of the course has been designed to investigate research discourses that focus in on educational technology. This course is offered from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/education\/\">Faculty of Education\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Department of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/education\/curriculum\/index.php\">Curriculum and Instruction<\/a>\u00a0in the Educational Technology area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an online course and can be completed without attending a face-to-face class session on campus. However, we will meet synchronously online on a weekly bases to have conversations about the course, offer support, and build social relationships. Also, since this course site is open on the web (with a few things behind passwords for privacy), anyone may follow along and participate as much as they desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions, please don\u2019t hesitate to contact your instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Calendar Description for EDCI 614<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An opportunity for engagement in the research community, advancing the development of student&#8217;s own capacity for research, and a critical examination of contemporary literature on functional educational concepts, research issues and implications for curriculum and instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intended&nbsp;Course Outcomes <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the course, you will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop research techniques, academic communication abilities, and professional leadership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate and assess scholarly articles and journals related to your research context.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize and annotate relevant research and start to build a database of literature related to your research area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present a synthesis of your research area demonstrated through a literature review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EDCI 614 focuses on the foundational and emergent Discourses in Educational Studies.
