{"id":289,"date":"2021-05-04T06:31:06","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T13:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/edci565\/?p=289"},"modified":"2022-01-07T11:36:02","modified_gmt":"2022-01-07T19:36:02","slug":"michael-paskevicius","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/edci565\/michael-paskevicius\/","title":{"rendered":"Michael Paskevicius"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am a professor in educational technology at the <a href=\"http:\/\/uvic.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Victoria<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Faculty of Education<\/a>\u2018s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/education\/curriculum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Department of Curriculum and Instruction.\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>I am\u00a0very much looking\u00a0forward\u00a0to\u00a0working with you this term.<\/p>\n<p>My research focuses on learning design practices, the development of digital literacies, and supporting personal knowledge management in an environment of rapid technological change. I have worked in higher education institutions across Southern Africa and Western Canada since 2005, supporting collaborative, creative, and personalized approaches to learning. As an advocate for openness in education, my research explores the integration of open source tools, open educational resources, and the development of open educational practices among educators.
