I would first like to comment on the flow of your blog post, it is very clear to read and I can tell that you know what you are talking about. I think that you made some very important points throughout your writing especially when you talked about the importance of being proactive when creating lessons. Differentiation should never be an afterthought and UDL is very proactive in influences multiple means of teaching/understanding. Like you, UDL is something that I will be incorporating into my future classroom. It is a necessity to be thinking about the needs and abilities of all your students, there is no such thing as the “Average learner”! I often hear that incorporating UDL into your teaching can be very time consuming, can you think of any strategies that could help a teacher who is wanting to use UDL principles but can’t seem to find the time? Thank you for sharing all you knowledge about UDL!!”

2. The title of your blog post speaks for itself, “building a social presence in an online learning space.” I find this to be a very important topic considering we all experienced this type of learning in someway during the pandemic. I appreciate your effort with this blog post, it is obvious that you engaged with the resources. Thank you for also including your experience with online learning as I can relate to it in many ways as I’m sure others can too! Do you think that your high school teachers didn’t have a good social presence during this time due to their lack of understanding within the technologies and transition or more due to personal ‘laziness’ or lack of effort?

3. I had never heard of Student Hub Live (SHL) before so it was neat to read about your comparison between UDL and SHL. It was also nice to hear that a past professor of yours provided multiples methods for you and your classmates to engage with the content he was teaching. You did a great job at reflecting on the principles of UDL throughout your blog post but maybe it could have been beneficial to add a link or image that explained each of the principles! Here is a link to a website that includes the standard description of each UDL principle: https://udlguidelines.cast.org

4. Blog Post #4- Identity and Networking- Therese EDCI 339

Hello Therese!! Good job on this blog post, I wanted to make note of the way you referenced your starting images. I didn’t know that the tool you used was even a thing, did you know that when you add a photo to your blog there is a place that you can create a caption? I enjoyed reading through your thoughts on networked pedagogy and I appreciate you embedding resources into your post! I share the same thoughts about using these platforms to connect with people from a wider range of locations and education levels compared to the smaller circle people tend to create within university. The access to resources that these platforms provide benefit many people including the ones sharing them!

5. I enjoyed reading through your blog post and I liked that you broke it up into two separate sections, it keeps the information organized while influencing flow. in the first half, I appreciate that you explained the role of the facilitator as I feel that it is often misunderstood. Is there a specific role that you prefer to take on during group projects? Moving onto your second part, I think it is important that you embedded a video in your post as it enhances the information you shared about the teachers presence in online learning. Thank you for your effort, I learned a lot through your work!

6. I enjoyed reading through your blog post and I found the multimedia elements you included to be very interesting. It was fascinating to see a game with a colour blind mode, I think that is amazing and emphasizes the accessibility for diverse users. Moving onto your character creation, I have heard many things about the fact the people can recognize when something (like a character) was created by a man or a woman! You made a great point, authenticity and care really do matter. Question: Have you seen or heard of any books that you can clearly distinguish the gender of the author?

I have created this blog post to keep record of the comments that I have made on other peoples blogs!
