I love teaching EDCI 339. I join from my location as a visitor for the last 25 years upon Treaty 7 territory where my spouse and I are raising two wonderful children. I have been the Secretary of the Board for the <a href=\"http:\/\/otessa.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Open\/Technology in Education, Society, and Scholarship Association (OTESSA)<\/a> since 2022. In my practice, distributed learning is part of meeting diverse learners and ways of learning in post-secondary and in industry. My focus on open approaches is a matter of making knowledge building an accessible practice. In these contemporary times, learning as a life-long practice needs to engage the learner in ways that are productive, meaningful, and accessible &#8211; this spans workplace learning, skill development, and more formal education pathways (such as in the university).<\/p>\n<p>To give you more about my academic background, I have a BSc (Psychology with a concentration in Behavioural Neurosciences), an MBA (with a concentration in Strategic and Project Management), and a PhD in Educational research with a specialization in Learning Sciences where I was a Government of Canada <a href=\"http:\/\/sshrc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSHRC<\/a> doctoral scholar. I have a great appreciation (and lived demonstration) of the great value of interdisciplinary perspectives and insights.<\/p>\n<p>My current interests span the opportunity for learning design to consider student-centred design through systems thinking approaches. I am interested in educational technologies, participatory pedagogies, and interdisciplinary knowledge building that crosses subjects and disciplines. I primarily am focused on ways of fostering and often reframing learning design that better prepares learners for their career pathways as well as supervision that best supports these practices. I look forward to learner experiences, expertise, and collaborative contributions that enrich our learning environment and knowledge building.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome!
