As discussed in Module 4, Openness is about more than resources and access. Open Educational Practices redefine the boundaries of the class and allows learning to surpass the limitations of traditional learning environments. In this activity, we are going to move our learning to Social Media. This is a great way to engage in a discussion and other potentially make connections with other people interested in the same topics as you.<\/p>\n
For this activity, you will participate in a Twitter Chat on Open Learning. The Twitter Chat will be hosted on Sunday, November 13th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.\u00a0 (If you are interested in this option, but not able to attend this time, please send me a note. We can certainly look at other times!)<\/p>\n
To participate in the chat, you will need to first create a Twitter account.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, November 13th, I will start posting at 6:45. The first question will be posted at 7:00. Search Twitter for the hashtag #edci339. All chat tweets will be tagged with this tag.<\/p>\n
I will post 5-6 questions over the hour. You should respond to the questions and look at\/respond to the responses from other students. We may even connect with people outside of our class!<\/p>\n
Your contribution to your Learning Portfolio should include any interesting questions or responses that you had during the chat (or reflections on your peers’ contributions!). You should also reflect on the process and experience of being involved in a Twitter chat. Make sure to also include a short self-reflection on why you chose this activity, how it aligned with your learning goals, and what you learned through the chat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
