We will meet via the class video conference link&nbsp;<br>You can also reach out at any point by email or Mattermost<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: the course outline and private links (i.e. the Zoom room\/password and the Mattermost join link) will only be accessible on Brightspace.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introductions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout this course, you will have opportunities to learn from one another by reading each other\u2019s work, engaging in group projects, and participating in peer review. To begin, let\u2019s take some time to get to know each other. Try including some of the following prompts (you don\u2019t need to address them all, but try to help us understand who you are):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is your name and lifestage?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where is your hometown? What is your native country and first language?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is your university major, and when do you plan to graduate?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduce your professional background (please include any volunteering or philanthropy)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are your favourite academic subjects?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are your hobbies or life passions?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can you share something interesting you did in the past year?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What experiences have you had with multimedia in education?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is something you hope to learn in this course?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, let&#8217;s start thinking beyond text &#8211; what can a photograph or short video clip tell us about you? Images are quick to process and engage us primarily on an emotional level (Yousman, 2016). So please&nbsp;share <strong>some photos or a short video clip<\/strong> of yourself \u2014 can you answer any of the above questions with an image?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve posted your introduction, take time to meet your peers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Review\/read<\/strong> at least 10 of your classmates&#8217; introductions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engage<\/strong> substantively with at least 4 peers, especially those who haven\u2019t received much feedback yet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use this opportunity to find peers with shared interests, goals, or majors who could potentially form a small group for synchronous discussions or identify a team for the challenge projects.
