What is your native country and first language?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where are you living this term (<em>please include this information to best coordinate groups<\/em>)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is your university major, and when do you plan to graduate?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduce your professional background (please include any volunteering or philanthropy)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are your favourite academic subjects?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are your hobbies or life passions?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can you share something interesting you did in the past year?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What experiences have you had with multimedia in education?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is something you hope to learn in this course?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, let&#8217;s start thinking beyond text &#8211; what can a photograph or short video clip tell us about you? Images are quick to process and engage us primarily on an emotional level (Yousman, 2016). So please&nbsp;share <strong>some photos or a short video clip<\/strong> of yourself \u2014 can you answer any of the above questions with an image?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Engage with Your Classmates<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve posted your introduction, take time to meet your peers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Review\/read<\/strong> at least 10 of your classmates&#8217; introductions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engage<\/strong> substantively with at least 4 peers, especially those who haven\u2019t received much feedback yet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use this opportunity to find peers with shared interests, goals, or majors who could potentially form a small group for synchronous discussions or identify a team for the challenge projects. Group Work starts in the second week!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Teams for the three challenge projects should have ~3 students, but you\u2019re not required to work with the same team for all challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assessment and Deadlines<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participation in this forum (your introduction + responses to peers) is worth <strong>5% of your total course mark<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sure to post your introduction and engage with peers within the allotted timeframe (see the schedule in the course outline).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><code>References<\/code><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yousman, B.
