We are here to help you create your site, so do not hesitate to ask for technical support. To get started on creating your site we suggest the following steps:

Getting started with your site

  1. Log in to your site if you have not already. You can always log in to your site by typing your site URL, and adding /wp-admin to the end.
  2. Get familiar with the administration interface. This is where the Dashboard in WordPress is located.
  3. Remember: When you are in the site administration area of your site, you can get tips on what you are doing by clicking the “Help” menu on the top-right corner.
  4. Review your settings. Click Settings > General in the left hand menu. This is where you can change your site title, email, timezone, date settings, and more. You need to hit the “Save” button to save your changes.
  5. Add a new post. You can choose to assign your post to a category by checking a box on the sidebar of the authoring interface. You will need to hit the blue “Publish” button on the right hand side before your post appears. You can choose different privacy settings for each post.
  6. Add or delete pages. We have created your website with some sample pages. You can add more pages, or you can delete what is there. We recommend starting by changing your About Me page by introducing yourself and sharing a little about yourself.
  7. You are welcome to change the images on the site and upload your own- but you need to ensure you are allowed to use the images you choose!
