Hi everyone, I\u2019m excited to be teaching EDCI 336 and I\u2019m looking forward to getting to know each of you!<\/p>\n
I am a PhD Candidate in Educational Studies at UVic researching technology-integrated assessment in higher education. My work explores the intersection of the purposes of assessment, duty of care, technology acceptance, and assessment design and theory. I am currently analyzing data for the third of three papers comprising my dissertation.<\/p>\n
I taught educational technology in K-12 in BC, Alberta, and Japan between 2000 and 2010 and led technology-integrated teams in instructional design in higher ed and have taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in technology-integrated learning as well as transformational blended learning. I was most recently the Director of Technology Integrated Learning and Assessment at a small university in British Columbia where I supported faculty and learners in using technology to make sense of the world around them.<\/p>\n
I live in West Kelowna, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx people, and I spend a bunch of my spare time on my bicycle, walking my dog, or doing cool stuff with my wife. We have three kids: one is a police officer in Abbotsford, where he lives with his wife and 2 boys, one is a nurse in Surrey living in Maple Ridge with her husband and twin boys, and the third is just starting his first year of university, studying Human Kinetics.<\/p>\n
