At times, remembering back to what you did can feel like a haze of memories that blur together. Technology gives us the power to create artifacts that serve as living memories of our travels. Most people have many photos from their trip, yet they often don’t look back at them. A great way to turn your photos into a more meaningful and easily sharable moment is by turning them into a travel photo book.

If you do decide you want to start creating photo books, I strongly suggest to keep a journal while travelling. By relying on another source of information other than photos, you can turn your vacation into a story. Consider what type of story you want to tell when you are journalling. I like to write a preface for my books as well so that I know what else was happening around the time I went on my trip. You can either keep a physical journal, or use one of the many journalling apps that exist. Here is a Reddit thread for recommendations if you aren’t sure where to start looking for journalling apps.

One of my favourite things to do after I return from travelling is to create a travel book using the site Photobook Canada. This site has affordable options for ordering travel books and often has deals. If you are looking to get a cheap photo book that The site is free and is fairly easy to use if you have some experience with design.

Steps to creating a photo book:

1. Choose a theme if you want you book to have a consistent design throughout the book. This isn’t necessary if you want to design your own theme, but it works well if this is your first time creating a photo book. You are also able to edit any aspects of the theme you don’t like after you select the theme.

2. Choose a layout option which places text and images onto the page in different formats.

2. Insert images and text into your photo book. Reference your journal if you want your images to be sequenced. You can also look back at the order you took the photos in when you put them into your photo book.

3. Edit the pages as you please. They have clipart and frames that allow you to add in images and frame the images you added.

All of the photos for this were taken of my personal book creation.
