I had used it for a lesson planning activity in my EDCI 336 course and wanted to spend more time exploring it. I wanted to put generative AI to the ultimate test. I wanted to see if gen AI could create an adequate recipe. I decided to challenge it to make my favourite childhood dish. It’s a classic UK dish called Toad in the Hole: this includes Yorkshire pudding batter poured over top of English banger sausages.

I initially planned to take photos and create a short video explanation. However, my photos unfortunately are lost, deleted. There was a glitch in the matrix. I sadly don’t have them anymore. But I decided I wanted to make an attempt at creating my own mini recording where I discuss my overall process and key takeaways. It was a super interesting process. I first used Claude AI to make a script for me, which I used as a general outline to guide my conversation off of. Then, I had to figure out how to take my voice memos, edit them, and turn it into something podcast-like.

If you want to check out what I wrote, here is the link to my Claude AI conversation, and there is a quick YouTube short below that I thought did an adequate job at explaining the history of Toad in the Hole.

Below you can find the podcast that I decided to create. I was inspired to test this because, as I stated earlier, I unfortunately lost all of my images, and this challenged me to try out another way to share my baking process in a completely different way. I do wish I had a picture of what it looked like because it definitely was not the prettiest or tastiest thing I have made.

After making the podcast, I thought that this would be a really cool project for students to do in intermediate and middle school grades. Being able to have conversations and talk about what you have learned and what you know is a super interesting way to share your overall learning process. Overall, I would not make sourdough toad in the hole again. I would try to make a podcast. It was a new, fun, and unique experience.

This week, I wanted to test out Claude AI.
