Starting an online education technology course feels different from many of the classes I’ve taken before, and I’ll admit that navigating the platforms and setting everything up was slightly overwhelming at first. There were moments where I wasn’t entirely sure if I was doing things “right,” which brought up some self-doubt. That said, I keep coming back to the idea that growth and learning often come from discomfort. If everything felt easy and familiar, there wouldn’t be much room to stretch or develop new skills. This course already feels like an opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and engage with technologies that will be increasingly important in my future classroom.

Despite the initial uncertainty, I’m genuinely excited to see what this semester will bring. I’m looking forward to building confidence with educational technologies and learning how to use them thoughtfully and intentionally, rather than just for the sake of using tech. As a future elementary educator, I see a lot of value in learning how digital tools can support creativity, accessibility, and meaningful learning experiences for students. Overall, while EDCI 336 started with some nerves, I’m choosing to lean into the process. I’m hopeful that by the end of the semester, I’ll not only feel more comfortable with educational technology but also more reflective about how it can support both teaching and learning. This feels like the beginning of an important learning journey, and I’m excited to see how I grow along the way.

As I begin EDCI 336, my initial feelings are a mix of curiosity, nervousness, and a bit of confusion.
