Welcome to EDCI 336!<\/p>\n
My name is Allie Kostiuk and I am a sessional instructor for the University of Victoria<\/a> in the East Kootenay Teacher Education Program<\/a> (EKTEP) located in Cranbrook. I have been with the program since 2020 and teach both EDCI 336: Technology and Innovation in Education<\/a>, as well as EDCI 402: Reading Instructional Principles & Strategies<\/a>. I am also a Field Advisor for EKTEP for the 3-week co-teaching practicum (Year 2), the 6-week practicum (Year 3), and the 10-week final practicum (Year 4).<\/p>\n I have a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia (2017) and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Victoria (2011). I have taught in both School District #5: Southeast Kootenay and School District #6: Rocky Mountain in grades 2 and 3, K-5 music, and grades 1 and 3 technology. I now have two young children at home and enjoy spending my time with them!<\/p>\n Educational technology interests include digital portfolios, coding with kids, video creation and editing, website design and supporting environmental education with technology.
