I am excited to be able to support students through the development of skills with the use of Educational Technology in their classroom.<\/p>\n
My teaching experience with the use of Educational Technology spans many years and a variety of grade levels (K-10) including post-secondary and graduate level courses.\u00a0 I have been active in the support of Educational Technology use in classrooms across British Columbia for most of my career and have provided countless workshops and presentations at the district and provincial level on curriculum integration, computational thinking, digital online tools, teaching with technology, AI in Education and Educational Technology use in general.\u00a0 I have considerable experience helping teachers apply theoretical models to practical classroom application as well as developing strategies in the appropriate selection and successful use of technology for the classroom.<\/p>\n
Through my roles with the Computing Users of British Columbia (CUEBC), a specialist association through the BCTF, I have current knowledge and experience with technology in school districts throughout the province.\u00a0 I am aware of issues around the integration of technology and online course delivery for teachers.\u00a0 Having a B.C. perspective is useful as there is a wide range of technology readiness and expertise in School Districts in the province.<\/p>\n
I was a participating member of each of the last three iterations of the BC Information Technology Curriculum K-12.\u00a0 Including one of the two authors of the current Information Technology components under the ADST umbrella.<\/p>\n
In my present role as the Professional Learning Coordinator for Focused Education Resources I facilitate digital transformation, offering sessions for educators on district professional development days, and ‘on demand’. \u00a0Focused ED supports the integration of learning technologies into instruction, with a focus on the Digital Classroom core resources.<\/p>\n
