We have run edcamps in our classes before as well as hosting large in-person ones here at UVic and they draw wonderful people from the community ranging from teachers, EAs, principals, professors, scientists, parents, and more! We will invite learners from our 3 sections of EDCI 336 last term as well as preservice teachers from other universities. Feel free to send the link to the edcamp website out to educational stakeholders you know, so that they may register (it&#8217;s free!); however, please do not send the Zoom link out yourself as they will not be admitted to our Zoom room if they are not formally registered.<\/p>\n<p>To prepare for EdcampUVic next week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review our blog post on <a href=\"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/edci136\/2019\/08\/20\/running-an-edcamp-unconference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Running an Edcamp<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Review the website we built for <a href=\"https:\/\/edtechuvic.ca\/edcamp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EdcampUVic<\/a> that we will be running next week (and feel free to share the URL with others so they can register)<\/li>\n<li>There is no need for EDCI 336 learners to register. We will send you the password to access the Participate HERE page via Mattermost.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.research.net\/r\/edcampuvic2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">submit 3 topics<\/a><\/strong> you would like to suggest for topics to be considered for upvoting <strong>by the end of class on Friday, March 26<\/strong>. The topics MUST be related to education (they do NOT have to be edtech-specific).<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ll then collate the list and post a survey here on the afternoon of Friday, March 26, to <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.research.net\/r\/TP98N6Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>vote for your top 3 topics<\/strong> <\/a>out of the combined list.
